Youth @ CV

Always something going on at CV youth!

Youth at CV is for young people of secondary school age (11-18). Each of the young people in CV youth is loved and valued regardless of their individual beliefs and background. You do not have to be a follower of Jesus to be welcome at CVY.

Youth can get involved as much or as little as they feel comfortable and are welcome to bring friends along to events (as long as we have a completed and up to date information and consent form for each young person coming along.)

What are we up to this year?

We really do get up to all sorts and have a packed youth calendar. We keep most Sunday mornings free for young people to join their families and youth leaders in church and serve on teams. Throughout the week, and at weekends, we meet for socials, Grace Acts project days, individual mentoring, worship nights and teaching sessions. Please see this term’s calendar for a current list of what’s coming up!

Who runs CV Youth?

Our core youth leadership for this academic year is made up of Tish, Tim, Colin and Jim. We have other adult youth team helpers to support with socials, logistics and lifts but it will be these guys that are doing the prepping, planning and discipling of the young people. All our youth leaders are volunteers.

DTI

Our annual highlight is our time away together at DTI (Dreaming the Impossible). We join thousands of other young people from around the country to have fun together and worship Jesus. It is always an amazing and fruitful time and our youth come back buzzing. Find out more about DTI at https://dreamingtheimpossible.org

Going away for 5 nights with 20-30 young people is no small feat. We try to fundraise as much as we can throughout the year to help us with costs of transportation to Stafford to try to keep the experience as affordable and accessible as possible for everyone attending. To know more about cost breakdown or to support us with our fundraising for DTI, please speak to the team.

Getting involved

Our youth has significantly grown in numbers over the last couple of years, which is really exciting. We want to continue to facilitate a full calendar of events and activities to connect and draw young people closer to Jesus and each other.  Two of the most practical ways you can help us are:

PRAYING for our young people in CVY, their friends and families and leaders, and for provision and fruit.

GIVING financially towards the youth ministry at CV and supporting fundraising events to enable us to continue what we are doing for our growing numbers.
